You don’t have to be an old salty dog to be able to appreciate these double-handed Hans Christian, and this one, a 1986 HC 43, shows just why they’re so special. These are true world cruising yachts. Having completed a circumnavigation, she’s been cruising the Gold Coast for the last 7 years.
Hans Christian’s are well known for their sturdy construction. With a heavy-molded reinforced solid fiberglass hull and molded fiberglass deck. They are rigid well insulated. All scantlings and lay-up are in excess of Lloyds of London specifications.
Her accommodations are designed for comfort on long passages. She sleeps seven with two private cabins, two doubles, and three singles, plus the pilot berth and pullout berth in the main salon. The interior is beautifully finished in solid teak with a satin finish varnish. Locker doors are either louvered or raised panels and the overhead is a white painted v-groove.
She comes equipped with a full wardrobe of sails including spinnaker. The chainplates and standing rigging has been replaced as of 2019.
If you, like us, love the salty and timeless characteristics of these Hans Christian, it is certainly worth an inspection.
